China Beautiful Actress: Betty Huang Yi

Betty Huang Yi is a popular Chinese actress and singer. In 2001, Betty raised public attention by acting as principal female character in “Accidental Marriage”, a television series recomposed from the homonymic novel written by Ms. XI Juan of Taiwan. The lovely but naive knight-errant she played, Miss LI Yuhu, gave the public a totally refreshing image and won an unanimous compliment from both the public and professional critics. Thereafter in 2002, Betty acted the leading role in another TV series “The Returning Princess – 3rd Season”, which is the most welcomed in Mainland China even till now. This role put Betty the top actress in China, receiving fans from Mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan and even South East Asian regions. In the meantime, Betty also participated in the shooting of TV series version of “Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon”, which is also warmly welcomed. In 2005, Betty acted as No.1 heroine in “Everlasting Regret”, she played an important role in the movie of the same name. With the series in air, and in view of the influence of Betty, the production team launched a cartoon series for her, making Betty the first real-man cartoon star in China. In end 2005, Betty signed with Sony BMG and issued her first album: the First Summer. With the album, Betty won the “New Singer Prize” of Sprite China, the “Golden Song Prize of Mainland China in 2005” organized by Guangzhou, and “the Best Woman-singer in Mainland China” offered by Fujian. It’s worth mentioning that Crystal donated all the income from the album to set up a primary school in the countryside of Beijing. Betty believes that everyone has a dream, and she wants to help the poor children realize their dream of going to school. During the even of Indian Sea Tsunami, Betty also played as volunteer to serve in red cross, even went on street to ask for donations. Betty is also an active player in modern life, warmly welcomed by many top brands, such as Cartier, Dior, Chanel, Gucci, SKII, Shiseido, etc. She was further an amateur of racing cars, making outstanding records in several rounds of Chen Long Cup car-race.
